ABEOKUTA—A vulcaniser and his friend, working by the roadside, reportedly lost their lives, yesterday, along Atan-Idiroko Road, when an unregistered truck coming from Oke-Odan, Idiroko, lost control due to speeding and rammed into them.
The Public Relations Officer of Ogun State’s Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, Babatunde Akinbiyi, disclosed that the accident occurred around 9.30a.m., yesterday.
Akinbiyi said the truck, with an unknown registration number, coming from Oke-Odan, Idiroko, lost control due to speeding and rammed into a vulcaniser and his friend working by the roadside.
His words: “The corpses have been deposited at the morgue at Kayode Hospital at Atan, Ogun State, while the truck driver is in the custody of the Police in the area.”
Akinbiyi advised motorists and road users to exercise caution on the highways “as we approach the end of the year.”
