By James Agberebi: Nigerian defender Azubuike Egwuekwe salvaged a point for SuperSport United in their 1-1 home draw against Obinna Nsofor’s Cape Town City FC in the South African Absa Premiership on Saturday.
The goal was Egwuekwe’s first for SuperSport in his second appearance since joining them from Finnish club KuPS in 2017.

Aubrey Ngoma gave Cape Town City the lead when he scored in the 44th minute.

But in the 95th minute, Egwuekwe grabbed a late equaliser to help SuperSport win a share of the points.

Also in action was Obinna Nsofor who made his seventh league appearance for Cape Town, with one goal scored so far.

The draw means SuperSport now occupy 11th position on 15 points in the 16-team league table.

Egwuekwe was a member of the Super Eagles squad that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

He was also in the Eagles squad to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and the home-based Eagles side to the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) in South Africa also in 2014.
